Looking for Nigerian Small Chops Recipes? Find it Here….
The Nigerian Small Chops are appetizers/finger foods served mostly at parties and special events. They are basically the classic Nigerian snacks made into bite sizes.
The small chops include Spring Rolls, baby puff puff, Samosas, chicken kebab, coconut candy, mini donuts, stick meat, Peppered Gizzards/Snails, Gizdodo, Mini sausage Rolls, Mini fish rolls and a lot more.
Below are the most common Nigerian small chops recipes.
1. Samosa
Samosa, although originally from Asia, is one of the most popular Nigerian Small chops.
2. Spring rolls
Spring rolls goes hand-in-hand with samosas and no Nigerian small chop table is complete without it.
How to Make Homemade Spring Roll wrappers
4. Mini Puff Puff : The mini or baby puff puff is simply a smaller size of the original snack.
5. Mini Sausage Rolls : just as the mini puff puff, the mini sausage roll is also a smaller or shorter version of the original sausage and also a popular Nigerian small chop.
6. Asun (smoked peppered spicy goat meat): this is a deliciously spicy Nigerian small chop …you’ll love it.
7. Nigerian Coconut Candy : this sweet snack is usually added as a ”top up” to any small chop tray. So if you like coconuts, and like something crunchy and chewy, you’ll love this Nigerian Small chop.
9. Gizdodo/Dodo Gizzards (Plantains&Gizzards)
10. Mini Cakes
11. Meat stuffed yam (potato) balls
12. Banana Puff Puff

Hi Lily! Pls I make chops. But if I am to deliver to a customer how do I keep it crunchy till I get to my destination? Thanks
Hi esther, always let it cool completely before packaging, so that moisture from the heat won't make the skin soft, especially wen working with spring rolls.
But I would like to bake the donut, so where do I place it in d oven? In the oven tray or on the oven rack. And if in the oven tray, do I need to grease the tray? Tnx in anticipation
The oven tray and yes you have to grease it lightly with butter.

This is by far, the best 9ja recipe site I have thankfully stumbled upon. There are a lot of 9ja recipes online but most of the time they go like this: " add flour", without the precise amount, or add ginger to taste.I havent tried all the recipes but even the pictures show me, yes, this is exactly how I remeber the look of e.g. the Nigerian Fried Rice . Great Job. Brings back the taste, smell and memories of good old Nigeria. A huge God Bless 2 u, out of diaspora. 🙂
Aww dear, a big THANK YOU for the compliment.. well appreciated 🙂
This is a very helpful and resourceful site…I came across it as a result of "small chops craving"…I really want to start making mine too, hope i get it right! 🙂
You will definitely get it right. Just follow the recipe and contact me for any further assistance. Thanks for dropping by and do stick around for more 🙂
Thanks ma’am for the nice job. I tried out the recipe on samaso but got just 7pieces. I don’t know if I didn’t get the measurements well because I used cup not scale. I converted the measurements to cup. Please can you try telling me the measurement in cups? Thank you.
Author
I will do that hun.
7 pieces is truly small.
