Hi Philomena, I truly don't know if that's the reason, but you can ask your doctor. I know fresh bitter leaf juice causes miscarriae in some women but I don't know about okra.
No I had a lots of okro and ogbono soup when I was pregnant with both of my children and they are both healthy boys.
Hello, I heard that it's not ideal for a pregnant woman to eat draw soup like Ogbono, is okro included or is it after birth that it is good to eaten, they say it might make the baby to be dropping saliva or something, pls can u clarify me?
Dear Evans, I don't think so. You know our people and their tales, but if you are uncomfortable about taking okro or ogbono soup while pregnant, you can always eat other healthy Nigerian soups such as vegetable soup and the likes.

Yes dear, you can use dry leaves, but you have to clean it well because they seem to contain traces of dirt(from dust), maybe because a lot of them are dried in open air. Thank you so much for you input..well appreciated 🙂
Thank you for the information on medicinal uses of bitter leaf and okra. I place 3 leaves of bitter leaves in about 200mls of boiling water leave to continue boiling for 5 minutes, cool for 10 minutes, then drink in divided doses about 65mls 3 times daily, drink at least 3 times per week, and feel and see the result.( frozen leaves) much better with fresh leaves which you can juice or blend with an apple. Can also use dried leaves. Blended and drink fresh okra, just wonderful.
